Some of us know what we want to achieve in the next few years. You might want to take part in a marathon, go travelling, start your own business or increase your income to a certain level.

We all have ideas of what we want to do but how many of us know how to achieve those goals?

Not many, I’m guessing.

For that small percentage of people who have a plan how to achieve their goals do you think they can say that every single day they are getting closer to achieving them?

Chances are the answer is no. Life gets in the way, it might be raining outside so you don’t want to go running, there might be your favourite film on TV or your friends invite you over for dinner – life happens. You find you lack motivation becuase life gets in the way.

I certainly include my self in the life happens category. I set out with clear goals and a plan of how to get there but then I get busy with life and those goals instead of being at the forefront of my mind drift off into the background.

“Life get’s in the Way”

I was chatting to a business consultant last week and simply chatting to this guy I found motivating. Its really great talking to people who have such a high amount of enthusiasm and energy it makes you want to get home and shout “Let’s do this!” – I do say this lots by the way.

Anyway this consultant was telling me about this American motivational speaker called Anthony Robbins, who is one of the highest regarded motivational speakers at the moment.

So over the weekend whilst eating my porridge I found a spare 30 minutes and watched this video on YouTube:

To say it was motivational is an understatement. It gave me a massive kick up the backside and I have got more done so far this week (its Wednesday) that I have in any other weeks so far!

So the moral of the story is check out some motivation videos every now and then and motivate the crap out of yourself – then be awesome!
